Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hello Anju,

Welcome to HCM and thank you for your query.
Most of the studies done with montelukast in pregnancy is in people with asthma.
Cumulative data, including a recent Motherisk study, are very reassuring regarding the use of this drug to treat pregnant patients with asthma.
Exposure to montelukast during pregnancy does not appear to increase the risk of major malformations above the 1% to 3% baseline in the general population

If your allergic symptoms do not respond to local sprays, you have to make the decision regarding using L Montus in the light of the evidence available.

I shall be happy to answer if you have further queries.
Take Care,
Dr Noble Zachariah, Kuwait
