Is Swollen Lymph Node A Common Symptom Post Extraction Of Wisdom Tooth?
I had a wisdom tooth removed on Friday. It's now Sunday and the swelling on the cheek area isn't too bad. However I do have extreme swelling in what appears to be my right lymph node under my jaw. I am already taking penecilin and hydrocodone /Advil. Is the lymph node swelling common?
The swelling of the cheek as well as the lymph nodes will gradually subside as the inflammation will reduce and the healing will proceed..
I would suggest you to continue taking the antibiotic and pain relievers as advised to you by your dentist and take preferably Advil as it contains Ibuprofen that will help in reducing inflammation along with pain and the swelling will tend to subside soon.. Also add serratiopeptidase with Ibuprofen.. Do cool compresses over the swelling as well as lymph nodes. Do warm saline gargles..
In case of worsening of symptoms consult your dentist after waiting for atleast a week..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
