General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Swimmers who are on their periods can use a tampon, a menstrual cup, or even special swimsuit bottoms designed to make swimming during menstruation easier. Not only is swimming during your period totally fine, but doing so in cold water may actually slow down your period's flow a bit.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ajeet Singh, General & Family Physician
