Is Swelling In Ankle And Foot Post Stroke A Cause For Concern?

my husband is a recent stroke victim....one hemorragic three infarcs.... his left leg was effected with immobility.. he has been experiencing swelling of the ankle and foot of the left leg.. now he is experiencing swelling in both limbs....since his physical therapy is getting tougher, I am not sure if I should call the dr or just treat it at home with propping and ted hose
