Is Swallowing Saran Wrap Harmful?

Hi, I was at a dinner party last night (in a foreign country). I ate a pinwheel-looking dessert, and it turns out that it had saran wrap in it! I didn't realize it and swallowed it. Later I found out that everyone had spit theirs out.
Is saran wrap harmful? it wasn't a very big piece.

hello,
most likely this will pass uneventfully such as when coins get swallowed, but for the next 5-7 days monitor your bowel movements to see if you can see it make its way through. if you notice worsening abdominal pain, inability to pass gas, no bowel movements, bloating/distention, seek medical attention.
