Is Suspicious Apical Density Connected To Pulmonary Tuberculosis?

hi..i had my chest xray last sept and the result is suspicious apical density and suggest for apical lordotic view.I am worried because maybe this would be delicate and might get worst.And is it connected in ptb?thanks.hope you can answer my question so it can relieve me.

Hi,

Apical density is commonly caused by tuberculosis of lung however it can also be caused by old healed lesions, scars or consolidation of bacterial pneumonia If there's infiltrate it suggests active disease. The apical lordotic view visualizes diseases at the top of the lung better than the standard back to front view. It looks for pulmonary nodules. If you have fever,weight loss, fatigue or any such symptom just to rule out you can have three samples of sputum tested for tuberculosis that is get a AFB stain and culture for mycobacterium.
