hi mam/sir,let me make it clear that no one can replace an expert doctor.i mean,a thorough physical examination by an ortho specialist is always advisable.i shall mention all the treatment options.surgery is to be considered only when all the conservative measures fail.
1)pain management with NSAIDs(ibuprofen) and opioids like codeine, vicoprofen(hydrocodone with ibuprofen).
2)physical therapy
3)bracing and orthotics
the prognosis after surgery is 84%.so,just give medical management a try under the supervision of an orthopedic surgeon.hope your doubt is clarified.any other issues, please do bring to my notice.thank you.take care.bye.
