Is Surgery Needed To Stop Internal Bleeding?

My friend's father fell down from a bus and after scannning the doctors told that he needs surgery as there is bleeding inside/in brain. What would be the exact situtation, and would surgery give a complete cure? Is there anything very serious to worry about? Pls tell the exact information as i have to prepare my friend to face the situation for his beloved father. thanks

Hello
This sounds like either a subdural or epidural hematoma in his brain the the surgery is needed to drain the blood and take the pressure off his brain.

The surgery itself is relatively simple--a small hole is drilled into the skull and the hematoma is drained.

As for his recovery, that would depend on the size of the hematoma and whether there was any brain damage but there's a good chance he will recover from this
