Is Sudden Spasm In The Hand An Indication Of Multiple Sclerosis Progression?

I have had mild MS for about 29 years. I have had few symptoms, though I have had bladders issues which I have had therapy for. Recently, I experienced a sudden spasm in my left hand (I am left handed.) My whole hand contorted and while it resolved by my pushing back my hand/fingers into a normal position, was very frightening. Is this a sign of progression? What can be done to relieve this should it reoccur?
