hi doc. my x-ry result is as correlated with chest PA shows a faint nodulohazy density in the upper lungfield. No other remarkable findings. and the impression: NODULOHAZY DENSITY IN THE RIGHT UPPER LUNGFIELD LIKELY TO PTB OF UNDETERMINED ACTIVITY...
should go on a sputum test?

I can understand your concern.
Yes, you should definitely get done sputum examination for AFB (acid fast bacilli-bacteria causing tuberculosis).
Tuberculosis is commonly seen in lungs and especially in upper lobes.
So upper lobe lesions on chest x ray must be evaluated for tuberculosis.
And sputum examination is accurate, easily available, rapid and cost effective test for the diagnosis of tuberculosis.
So get done sputum examination for AFB.
