Is Spotting A Side Effect Of Vaginal Progesterone Pills?

I am taking vaginal prostrogene pills due to low prostrogene which caused light spotting. I have been taking them for three days now, and I noticed on the third day I had some bright red to clear, pinkish spotting when wipe after using the bathroom. I went to the doctor the begining of the week and heard the baby heartbeat. It was strong. I just want to know is the spotting a side of the effect of the prostrogene, or I am having a miscarriage?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and welcome.

Were you having the bleeding before the initiation of progesterone or not? Yours seems to be a sensitive pregnancy and possibly even a threatened abortion. The progesterone will help sustain your pregnancy and so it should slowly subside with the help of medications your doctor is prescribing.

Keep in close touch with your doctor and report all the developments.

Best wishes.
