Is Smoking Marijuana Safe After Insertion Of A Cardiac Stent?

Hi, I m a 63 yr old woman, 5 5 , 190lbs, somewhat active(moderate daily exercise) who had a widow-maker heart attach in April 2017. They put a stint in. I smoked anywhere from 1/2 to 1 pack of cigarettes daily for 50 years, and smoked weed occasionally. I quit when I had my heart attack. I was trying to research what smoking weed can so after having a stint put in.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I understand your concern for your health condition and issues relating to smoking weed. But, I am afraid to say that smoking weed causes severe vasoconstriction and very high chances of getting another heart attack or even stent blockage also.

I would suggest to stay away from them. Have healthy life ahead.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mrugank Bhavsar
