Is Small, Painful Bump On Shin Healed With Massage Concerning?

Hi I had a bruise for a month or two on my shin and the bruised healed but there was still pain in that area. Today I massaged the area and felt a small bump and then after sometime felt the pain in my shin was gone. Does that mean it was a hematoma and I massaged it out? Is that dangerous that I pressed on it. Will I be waking up wih a pneumothorax In the morning? Should I go to the ER?
