Is Sleeping Advisable After Suffering A Concussion?

I have a major concussion. I occurred in a cheerleading accident, on October 6th. I am going through 2 therapy sessions a week, vistibular and vision therapy. My eyes do not work together anymore. My real question is about sleep. Why is it not good for concussion patients to sleep. I have heard multiple things but I need to know what is really going on when I sleep.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Actually, it is not adviced to sleep for more than 4 hours only in first 2 days after injury since it is improtant to prevent conciousness loss and check for signs in a patient. After this period, man should sleep as usual. Your symptoms are commonly seen after brain concsussion and you need to do EEG and neurologic testing but generally only time is required for full recovery.
Wish you good health.
