General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear,

The symptoms as mentioned in your post are attributed to Upper Respiratory tract infection.
As your nasal mucosa is congested, your olfactory & taste buds are not able to function properly and you are not able to appreciate the smell & taste or getting a deranged smell.

Management will involve:
1. A course of antibiotics based on culture & sensitivity reports.
2. Warm saline water gargle.
3. Maintain good oral hygiene.
4. Steam inhalation.
5. Antihistamine preparations can be used to provide symptomatic relief.
6. Maintain adequate hydration & a healthy balance diet.
7. Also make sure that you are well protected from cold, dust & other allergens.

Your symptoms will be relieved with this.
Wish you good health & a speedy recovery.
Take care.
