Is Red Meat Soup Advisable For A Person With Cholesterol?

Hi my mom is 50+ and since last year she has recieved cholestrol which was 300 and this year as well the cholestrol didnt go down. doc has advised for no non veg at all. Can paya soup increases the cholestrol. i mean only the soup cos its good for bones and she has knee problems too. Can you suggest please

hello,
i can understand your concern. Saturated fats are not healthy and are not advisable for people above 50.
Your mother's cholesterol levels are also high. All these increase the risk of heart attacks. I assume your doctor has prescribed medicines like statin for them.
Instead of red meat, i would suggest you to go for fish once or twice a week, give your mother lots of green vegetables. Get a Vitamin D and a bone mass density test done . Depending on the results, supplementation can be given.
