Hello My wife is 28 weeks pregnant with our second baby. She had a macdonald stitch in about six months of first pregnancy, when all of a sudden she felt a kind of labour pain. The second pregnancy,which is almost in the seven month, is going well with no signs of labour pain, lower abdomenal pain, discharge of any kind and heaviness. However, the doctor has prescribed her a stitch with IVFC 5000 UI to be injected as soon as possible. I wanted to ask if going for a stitch and injecting ivfc 5000 ui injection is safe at this stage. I am quite concerned because i have consulted two other gynaecologist and they said that there is no need of a stitch at this stage as it increases the chance of infections or other problems to the mother. I have also come to know that most of the time ivfc 5000ui is injected during the first trimester at the most and in the second trimester at the least. Moreover, as i said earlier that she has not experienced any kind of problems that could prompt a necessity of a stitch. Please provide me with a detailed information. Your concern in this regard is highly appreciated. Regards
