Is Pubic Bone Pain Normal After A Rectocele Repair Procedure?

I have pain in pubic area after my cystocele/rectocele on August 22, 2017. My Urologist says it is scar tissue. Is that common? It mainly hurts when I bend over. Ibuprofen dulls the pain, however, is always there, but only when I bend. He said it could take up to a year to go away.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

* According to my long surgical experience, certain ligament pain and nerve related issues do arise after rectocele repair.
* What I recommend at this juncture is:

- Avoid constipation with plenty of liquids, high fiber diet.
- Avoid sitting long on hard surfaces, long drives.
- Prefer soft cushion support when ever possible.
- Be in regular follow up with your surgeon.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
