Is Psoriasis Genetic?

iam 31 years old woman and my husband is 10days elder than me he has psoriasis for the past 5years but only on legs and i have a son who is now 7years old can i now plan for another child if yes then when can i plan since we r scared tht tht baby will also get psoriasis please advice

1. Yes psoriasis can be inherited. There are proven genetic mutations in twins. It can also be passed on to offspring from parents. But that does not mean a child will get for sure. As there are multiple factors to decide in a genetically susceptible individual, its difficult to commit on the sureness of manifesting with disease.
2.There are options of genetic testing for psoriasis in parents and also prenatal.
3. Fear of getting disease in offspring should not prevent you from going for another child. You can go for prenaral counselling and discuss the options for further course of action.
