Is Pregnancy Possible While On An Expired Implanon?
I have implanon in my left arm. It expired in April and now is Sept. I never had a period for the 3 yrs on it. April was the first and got then gitt it every month after till now. Lasy month I hit and then 2 weeks later got it again. This month I have not gotten it at all and I m 22 days late. I took 2 home pregnancy test both negative. Could I be pregnant?
If the Implanon (etonorgestrel implant) has expired; then the chances of pregnancy are high. In patients whose implant was removed after 3 years, pregnancy occurred as early as 1-2 weeks after removal. As you have already crossed 3 years, i would recommend for the removal of the implant. As far as the pregnancy is concerned, sometimes home based pregnancy kits may be inaccurate. I would advice you to consult an obstetrician and undergo scanning and other investigations to rule out pregnancy. Hope the above information helps you. Thanks.
