Is Pregnancy Possible When On Progestin?

I m exclusively breastfeeding, on demand for the past 11 months. My child has solids 2-3/ day. I still pump every 3-4 hrs. I m on the progestin-only pill and have not missed a single dose. I have not received my period yet since I ve given birth. What is the likelihood of my becoming pregnant? I feel like I am pregnant due to the current symptoms I ve been having. I attempted a few pregnancy tests but kept getting either negative or a faint positive.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* While on regular progestin consumption, there are least chances of being pregnant.

However, as you have mentioned that faint positive urinary pregnancy test, I would recommend undertaking an ultrasound of the pelvis for final confirmation and management accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
