Is Pregnancy Possible Despite Taking Birth Control Pills?

Hi there, i recently had unprotected sex with my boyfriend i had been taking the pill for the past two week but forgetting some days and having to take two the next day, my period ended about a week and a bit before we had sex, he didn t finish in me but i know there is still a chance, how likely am i able to fall pregnant? And what are my options.

You are most likely to conceive if you have sex one or two days before you ovulate. If you have a 28-day menstrual cycle, you're likely to ovulate around the middle of your cycle (day 14). Emergency contraceptive pills are effective if taken within 72 hours of unprotected sexual intercourse. Morning after pill is most effective when taken immediately after unprotected intercourse. Efficacy declines as time elapses between sex and drug administration. But it is reasonably effective for up to 120 hours and perhaps longer. However, you should remember that it is more effective the sooner it is taken after unprotected sex. But it is not 100% effective, and pregnancy is possible even after its proper and timely use. Irregular and inadequate dose increases chances of failure of contraceptive pills. You can have a pregnancy test to clear doubt.
