Hi Please I want to know if it s still possible for me to be pregnant cos I had sex 1st of Nov which I took postinor2 48 hours later, four days later on the 5th I still had sex but my partners condom broke hence I took postinor2 the next day making it twice within the space of a week,a few days later I saw a few drops of blood which only lasted for a day and stoped of which my period wasn t due then, however this week I ought to have seen my period but it s yet to come and am a bit skeptical cos have been feeling cramps below my abdomen and a bit of pain on my boobs and I am worried sick I might be pregnant is this possible in light of all this ? I did a pregnancy test today which shows positive and I d appreciate if u can explain my situation as I don t want to think am pregnant.
emergency contraception pills act by preventing pregnancy through delaying or inhibiting ovulation, asbthe most probable mechanism of action. Eventhough it has been previously thought that it may alter the endometrium and impair the fertilized egg implantation, recent studies does not show this. so, if you have a delayed period and a positive pregnancy test, you should have a blood test and a gynecological ultrasonography.
Best regards, Anisa
