Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had my period on the 4th and i think my bf cum somewhere close to my vagina ( he was supposed to aim at my tummy but i think he missed it) , i was worried so I took a morning after pill within 12 hours. i did bleed six days after i took it. But since then I got breast tenderness for almost week and a half. my cycle should be 31 days. so my next period should be on the 5th. as day goes by, im more and more worried. and these few days my breast tenderness has gone. which i think is weird since i should get breast tenderness before my period( by now) . Im really worried or is it just that im overthinking? I didnt get any adominal pain during this month.
When taken within 72 hours following an act of unprotected sex, the emergency contraceptive pill like Plan-B is up to 95% effective in preventing an unwanted pregnancy. The efficacy of the Plan-B is higher the sooner after the unprotected sex it is taken. You had withdrawal bleeding that occurred six days after you took it.The Plan-B may change in your next menstrual periods, it may occur early or get delayed or you may have irregular spotting as well. If your period is delayed by one week, get the home pregnancy test done and consult a gynecologist.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
