Is Pregnancy Possible Despite Taking Plan B?

Hi doctor, my girlfriend and I had sex last time a while back, we used protection and she also took plan B a few hours after just to be safe. She had her priod as normal after that, but now for this month she still hasn t had her priod. Is there any chance that she s pregnant?

Emergency contraceptive pills are effective if taken within 72 hours of unprotected sexual intercourse. Efficacy declines as time elapses between sex and drug administration. But it is reasonably effective for up to 120 hours and perhaps longer. However, you should remember that it is more effective the sooner it is taken after unprotected sex. But still it is not 100% effective and pregnancy is possible even after its proper and timely use. As she has had period for this month, so get done a pregnancy test.
