General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Based on the findings you have posted of the 38 week scan, placenta with 3.6 cm from internal os is a low lying placenta and is considered to be 'placenta previa minor' between Grade 1 to Grade 2.
Vaginal delivery is possible with such type, but carries a risk of haemorrhage and fetal distress.
Since your placenta is also large, Caesarean section would be preferred to ease out the delivery process.
Kindly consult your doctor for proper clinical assessment and take decision accordingly.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best and wish you a healthy outcome.
