Is Physiotherapy For Lower Back Advisable During Pregnancy?
Hello doc, I had a c- sec 6 months back and now I m 6 weeks pregnant. My last period date was 5 dec 15. I had an X-ray taken for my lower back pain by a chiropractor on 30 December 15.And I have been been to those classes three times where pressure was given to my lower back ultimately pressure being given to my belly too. In spite of all these done can I continue with this pregnancy? Pls advice
First let me assure you that as long as you and your baby are doing well now, there is no reason for the discontinuing the pregnancy.
Pressure to the lower back at that point will not affect your pregnancy. X- rays are better avoided in pregnancy unless absolutely required.
The amount of radiation( measured in RADS,1 RAD= 1000 milli rads) of a single X-ray of the lower back (approx 270 milli rads) is no where near the dangerous levels which cause foetal abnormalities (10 RADS).
If you do continue to no have Lower back pain, consult you OBGYS and physician to decide upon the best and safest course of action while you are pregnant. Hope I've answered your query. Feel free to get back to us if need further clarification. wish you a wonderful and healthy pregnancy
