Hi,I am Dr. Andrew Rynne (Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my mother is 87 years of age and presently have a swollen lymph note in left shoulder really painful, the doctor gave her pain reliever and presently on her cell biopsy. Is it curable because the doctor dont want it to be oeperated. My mother has no infection and no fever
Hi, At your mother's age, surgery is not advisable. Biopsy results will confirm the diagnosis or if not accurate, an excision biopsy might be necessary. I do not want to jump to conclusions about the diagnosis. If it is not related to any tumor, it could be infections related and can be treated. If it is tumor related means, it as moved from some other location to node or is it starting in node? It will be difficult to treat at this age. Multiple answers will be requires based on biopsy results. Any further queries, do ask again. Dr. Prakash HM
