Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My daugter is 4 years old now - about two years ago she fell from the cot and had a bump - the doctors examined and said not to worry and the bump dissolved in about two weeks. For a year, she has been complaining pain in the spot, but only when pressed while wiping her hair with the towel. Otherwise, she is normal and very active. She is the class first and has a superb memory power to catchup songs very fast. I m worried why this pain is still there even after two years. i just spoke to the doctor - he has asked me to ignore them. But agreed to examine only if I want. Is this a matter of concern?
Pain in the head 2 years after the injury does need a follow up clinical examination by a GP / pediatrician. Since she is not having any symptoms except pain / tenderness when pressed at the point of injury and is not having any other symptoms, you can get few blood tests, imaging tests (X-ray) done to rule out any internal injury. If any pathology is detected, she will be treated accordingly.
Do not let her get over stressed, get her vision checked by an Eye specialist to stay on the safer side. She should get quality sleep. In case she develops headache (cluster headache / tension headache) or migraine, the symptoms should be reported to the treating doctor.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
