Is Pain In Fingers While Grasping Objects Due To Arthritis?

Hi Doc i am a polynesian (Māori) female. my D.O.B is 29/5/53. my is; lately i have been having pain in my fingers, which i have had to remove my wedding ring. i find it extremely annoying when grasping little things like parcels and using utensils in the kitchen because of the pain. is the pain due to arthritic?

after going through your query two possible diagnosis comes to me-
1.do you have numbness in fingers esp, thumb and index finger with increase in pain at night time then i suspect you have nerve compression at wrist known as carpal tunnel syndrome.
2 second possibility is Osteoarthritis/rhematoid arthritis.
please tell me in detail like the no. of joint involved,is there any swelling associated, do you have pain more in the morning with difficulty in making fist. feel free to tell me anytimea and anytime.
