Is Numbness In Ankle And Foot A Cause For Concern?

The inside of my left ankle and part of the foot right below have been numb all day. I sprained my ankle thanksgiving day and it has been sore if I am on it too long. I walked yesterday for a 1/2 hour and I have hypermobile joints and ligaments due to eds. Should I be worried?

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have numbness in ankle and foot . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like soft tissue injury , hematoma , nerve injury or compression . Sometimes organ failure can also cause symptoms like kidney and liver problem .I would suggest you to consult orthopedic surgeon for proper diagnosis . Doctor may order CT scan , MRI along with nerve conduction test . Doctor may prescribe anti inflammatory along with nerve supplement and recommend physical therapy . Doctor may also recommend surgery in severe nerve damage . For now keep your leg elevated while sleeping and applt warm compresses several times a day .
