Is Normal Breathing Possible Post Surgery For A Blocked Tear Duct?
I am having surgery for my tear drain in both eyes. Doctor said he will make a hole from inside my nose into the tear drain sack and place a string in the hole to keep it open while healing. My question is when I m out of surgery will they have my nose packed so that I have to breath through my mouth for the 2 weeks for the follow up visit? Thank you Paul B
Hello. NO, you do not need a nasal pack for such a long time. I do not do that for my patient, only if you will have some nose bleeding you will need nasal pack for 24 hours only.
Wish you all the best...
