I am 36 year old guty, around 165 cm in height and weigh 76 kg ,Recently, a P/A view chest X ray revelaed aortic knuckle calcification , suggestive of atherosclerotic change. Others paramenters including heart and great vessels were normal although the final impression of the total case was " within normal limits". DO i need to worry?
Your report suggests aortic knuckle calcification,it is due to atherosclerotic changes. These findings are early in your case.It is important to know about history of hypertension, diabetes mellitus, dyslipidemia. These medical conditions lead to early atherosclerotic changes. So,it must be diagnosed and need control to avoid further changes. It is because of the fact that it is generalized in nature and it involves whole body. However, heart and great vessels are normal.
Hope I have answered your question. Take Care Dr.Indu Bhushan
