Is My Blood Test Report A Cause For Concern?

I am a 45 year old woman. I am 5'5" and weigh 138. I don't smoke or drink. My blood test came back with a total cholesterol of 222.

My LDL = 137 , VLDL = 13.0, HDL = 72.0, Triglycerides = 63.0

Should I start taking fish oil capsules or Resveratrol tablets?

My grandmother had strokes but she died at 98 years old. My dad died at 61 but drank whiskey and beer and smoked two packs of ciggarettes a day. Should I be scared?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
The lipid profile report suggests that the total cholesterol is raised.
Besides total cholesterol, LDL is also raised.
LDL should be below 100 mg.dl.
The other parameters- HDL, VLDL and triglycerides are within normal limit.

It is not advisable to start any medication on your own.

You need to consult your physician for review of the report of lipid profile.
Initial life style modifications are attempted to control the elevated lipid.
If life style modifications do not work, medication is started.
So, consult your physician for further management.

Thanks and take care
