I just had a question about my son, he just turned two this December, he has some signs of autism but has been checked for it and they said he didn't have it. But I've been told the signs he has could also be other things. Here is a list of the signs.   Fails to respond to his name: seems like he tunes you out sometimes: appears not to hear sometimes   Appears unaware of others’ feelings most of the time.    Prefers to play alone: usually goes off by his self and plays: interacts inappropriately with other kids Loses words that he has previously been saying like Juice; also repeats words after people but will not say them after that.     Develops specific routines: gets mad/becomes disturbed if you the routines are changed    Moves constantly: always on the go.
•     Can’t explain what he wants.
•     Throws intense and violent tantrums.
•     Hyperactive: uncooperative, or oppositional.     Zaythan gets thing for his self only, without asking for help.     Very independent for his age.   Sometimes walks on his toes.    Sometimes gets upset when if you move things he put in a certain place•     Zaythan is delayed in speech; in speech therapy; most the time he will say a word once or twice then never say it again. He also has not said any words by his self; he has always repeated what someone else has said     Zaythan has a couple self-stimulatory behaviors, such as banging his head, biting his self, flipping switches on and off. He was in physical therapy, at the beginning of this year and now is in speech therapy, he tries his hardest in speech therapy but really doesn't get any where. Any professional that evaluates him keeps telling me he is six months behind in certain areas, like speech, coloring, and a couple other things but he has excellent understanding of someone telling him to get something or to do something. He was born 5 weeks early. I just wanted to know maybe what could be going on? When everyone tells me behind they don't give a reason why, i just want to know if it could be from where he was premature or if something else could be going on with him.
