Minoxidil solution is approved for use as an anti hair loss therapy. In males, its main use is for androgenetic alopecia. It is characterized by hair loss & thinning mainly from the frontal and vertex part of the scalp. In androgenetic alopecia, hair loss is progressive. In addition to minoxidil, Oral Finasteride is also approved for treatment of androgenetic alopecia in males. Goal of treatment is to slow down progression of hair loss and therefore treatment should be started early. Therapy is long term and results are usually noticeable after 3-6 months of regular use. I suggest that you visit a dermatologist for a confirmatory diagnosis as well as for the needful.
