Is Migraines And Eyes Pain Normal After Hitting Head With Handle Bars ?

I hit my head off the handle bars of my 4wheeler hard earlier today.. I did black out but then felt ok.. I took it easy.. I have redness where the wench control connected with my head right above my eye.. My left eye hasn t been able to focus since.. But I experience migraines so I figured it would trigger one.. My stomach has been nausea since and getting worse by the hour.. My forehead is really starting to hurt and now slowly spreading farther back to my temples and to my neck.. My eyes even hurt.. But I have no swelling were I hit.. It did hurt almost directly behind my head like at the neck of my skull right after I did it.. Everyone in my house has to be up early.. And we have little ones.. If its something I can just sleep off I rather do it. But I am not sure.. The pain seems to be increasing..

Good morning. Sorry for your mini-disaster......sounds like you'll be fine but YES, in fact, you are describing the good 'ole common aftermath of what we neurologists and headache specialists refer to as POSTCONCUSSIVE HEADACHE. It's a good idea to get on top of this type of thing early since in some cases it can become chronicified to the point of never going away. Under normal circumstances headaches and other symptoms generally resolve in a few weeks to few months and slowly abate but you may to treat migraine headaches. In my headache clinic everyone keeps HEADACHE DIARIES so that we can stay ahead of the problems and catch things before they get out of control.
