Is Macular Degeneration Genetic?

1. Is macular degeneration genetic? 2. I am having trouble seeing at night. Colors get bolder but more distorted and my eyes do not seem to adjust. I also feel like my eyes have a constant film over them. They feel almost thick . But are always dry. I am only 21.

I really appreciate your concern, yes it could be genetic and pathologic too and it need to be differentiate and for this you need to see the retinologist, this is the best option can be tried, hope this helps, take care and have a nice day.
