Is Lump Beside The Spine A Cause For Concern?

Hello, I was driving for Fed Ex and fell down some steps when I customers dog grabbed my leg and when I landed, I landed with a step nailing the thoracic area of my back so hard it actually broke the step. I ve had a knot next to my spine since a few days after this happened (tomorrow will actually be a month since I fell) I have not seen a doctor yet as my employer is fighting to report the injury to work comp, but I m concerned if something is going on that I need to worry about getting worse.
