Is Low Dose Chemotherapy Advisable For Acute Myelogenous Leukaemia?

My brother (60) has AML. He was just sent home in remission. Had blood work done last week & looked OK. Doctors want him to take a low dose chemo treatment for one week for three months then have a bone marrow donation. They have asked me, his sister (64) if I would take the swab to see if I was a viable donor.I had breast cancer about 8 years ago. If I am viable would it be dangerous or painful? The last 2 surgies I had the anesthia didn't work very well.

Yes low dose chemotherapy is advisable for acute myeloid leukemia before bone marrow transplantation.

For donor selection many criteria are there. And all should be full filled before selection of donor. No need to worry about pain. It's not much painful.
