Is Long Term Intake Of Ecosprin And Dubagest Safe During Pregnancy?
Hi I m 21 weeks pregnant...I conceived after ovulation injection... I ate zincovit, folvite and ecosprin 75mg till 12 weeks of my pregnancy after tat doc told me to stop ecosprin after 12 weeks.. . I changed hospital which near to my home ... Doc prescribed me iron, calcium tab nd she told me to continue ecosprin75mg for 5months and prescribed new medicine dubagest Sr 300... Now doc told me to continue till 36 weeks of these tablets... My 20 weeks scan baby growth was normal. . Is it safe to continue ecosprin75mg nd Dubagest Sr 300 till 36 weeks...

Your concern is regarding ecospirin and dubagest intake during pregnancty so let me take them separately. Dubagest is progesterone analogue and is helpful for maintaining pregnancy. And since you have conceived after ART it is safe and recommended in you case. Ecospirin in low doses ie. 75 mg once a day is given in pregnant ladies who may be at high risk of developing pre eclampsia or premature births. It is recommended by USPSTF( United States Preventive Services Task Force). So it is both safe and recommended in mid and late pregnancy.
I would suggest that you look out for some red flag signs when on ecospirin and consult your doctor immediately if these are present:
1. Skin petechiae
2. Spontaneous Bleeding from any site
3. Sudden drop in your hemoglobin
