Is Level Of 9.1 For Uric Acid Too High ?

Hi I am 31 yr old male. Nonvegeterian and occasional drinker ( avg 3 times/month). Recently detected for high uric acid i.e. 9.1. Immediately consulted my doctor . He started Zyloric BID. I have put on strict diet control which is stopped nonveg and alcohol. Is this level (9.1 ) too much than other high uric acid patients? IS it controllable ?

HI MT!
Welcome to healthcaremagic.com.Hyperurecimia is when serum uric acid levels are >6mg/dl in women and >6.8mg/dl in men.Untreated it can lead to gout and hence renal failure.Non veg diet and alcohol cause this condition so it has to be restricted and treatment taken till levels are normal.
