Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had a pulmonary embolism two months ago most likely from birth control (had depo for a year and switched to pills for about 3 months) when I went to hospital for the PE .they also said they found a small lesion in my liver but made no big deal. Now today I went to my hemotologist and they told me to get MRI for it...I assume he didn t know that I had the lesion back then because he made it sound like he received the info that day. He said he wants to check it again because I could have very small chance of cancer.I am scared.what do you think?
Cancer is always to be ruled out with any lesion seen anywhere around the body, but the lesion seen is most probably a tumor or a cyst that will not cause you any trouble, and most probably will not be a cause for concern either. I do not think it will be cancer, but either way go ahead with the MRI which will help diagnose the condition and help direct treatment accordingly.
Best wishes.
