Is Leg Itching, Broken Veins, Swollen Calves Due To Factor V?

Hi, my mother has factor v leiden and I m wondering i should be concerned and get my symptoms checked out. I get extreme itching on my legs then will see busted blood veins that turn into large bruises, quite often. Then when I sit down..for just merely a few minutes my calves will swell and or my legs fall asleep, I m constantly changing sitting positions as I do sit a lot at the computer. I need to mention also that when I ve traveled, my calves swell up and I have to prop them up for a time then the swelling goes away. I dont exercise per say regularly but i do go on walks with our dogs, and im not Always sitting down, I do run around and get up and move quite often, I do yard work and basic things around the house, i go grocery shopping and other things so I do walk often. But when I sit down, i have to change my seating arrangement within like 15mins or so or else my legs can fall asleep, even if im sitting on the couch or in a chair at dinner or even in the car, i have to prop my legs quite often. Should i get this checked out or is this considered normal ? Its been like this since i was 15 or so and I am now 34. thank you for your time and God bless you ~J.P.

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Factor V deficeincy is coagulation disorder and is associated with spontanaeous bleeding.
Spontanaeous bleeding is responsible for frequent bruising and formation of petechiae.
However, busted veins, swelling of legs and itching do not appear to be due to factor V deficiency.
These symptoms infact appear to be due to varicose veins.
A clinical assessment of the lesions is required for clinical assessment, relevant investigations and thus treatment.

Thanks and take care
