Is Knee Placement Surgery Recommended While Suffering From Arthritis?
I m looking at having knee replacement & just checking out all the items involved. Also, do I know when I m ready to have the surgery? I teach school PE/Health/Weight Lifting & have dealt with pain + have had cortizone shots last fall but did little for pain. Do not have much cartilage left on inside and have arthritis in the knee + age 61. Decisions/Decisions,kfrey
The persistent disability of movements with hampered quality of life indicates need of knee replacement when suffering from arthritis of the knee. As the steroid shots in the therapy are also relieving bit of the symptoms, the extent of damage to the knee joint seems to be of more grave clinical significance.
However, if you can share your latest MRI report with me during follow up discussion, it would be of paramount importance to discuss ahead in greater depth and precision.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
