Is It Safe To Use Metal On Bottom Brackets Instead Of Rubber Bands?

I went to the dentist the other day and when I got home I noticed she didn t put rubber bands on the bottom brackets. She put metal and twisted it then she cut off the loose metal. Right now it s poking the poop out of me and my lips are really hurting. I just wanna know if she was supposed to put metal on my bottom brackets instead of the rubber bands.

Thanks for your query. I have gone through your query.
We can use both the elastics or metallic ligature wire to ties the wire to the brackets. If the wire is poking, consult your orthodontist or dentist and get it rounded off. Mean while you can apply wax or chewing gum to cover the sharp wire edges till you consult your dentist. I hope i have answered your query. Take care.
