Hello! I am 26 years old and I have been drinking contraceptive pills for seven years (first Diane35 and for the past two years Yaz). I started drinking these not as a contraceptive but as a medicine. I didn t get my period (at all) untill the age of 17 (maybe the reason was that I was 173cm tall and my weight was 45-50kg), I only had severe pain in abdomene every four weeks . I wasn t worried about not getting my period and I done nothing about it... it came one day by itself. But, when I finally got it, it wouldn t stop for weeks. Sometimes, I was bleeding 40 days in a row and my periods were very, very painfull. At that time my anemia got worse and I was not feeling well at all. Sometimes my period lasted for three weeks and I would have only 5-7 days of rest until the next one arrived. When I couldn t bare it anymore I visited a gynecologist (eventough at that time I was still a virgin) and without any additional cheking, after listening about my situation, he prescribed me a Diane35 (and later on I asked him to switch it with Yaz). From that day on I had no more problems, pain is gone, my periods are precise and regular (my gyn told me that my state is incurable and that I have to drink pills till the moment I decide on having baby). Still, I m asking you for a second opinion because I m scared of potentially bad influece of long-lasting pill usage. What do you think about my problem?
