Is It Safe To Undergo Dental Surgery After Using Crystal Methamphetamine?

My sister has to be put to sleep for dental work on monday. The last time she used meth was Saturday night I believe. Is it safe for the surgery? She got her physical today, and they say everything was good, and approved the surgery. Is it really still safe to have the surgery?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..

As per your complain if you have to go for general anaesthesia for dental surgery and she has taken meth on saturday then it is generally asked to avoid taking meth 3 to 4 days before anaesthesia but in case if her vitals are normal and she is completely oriented with no side effects she can very much go for the surgery..

But she should avoid smoking atleast for 2 weeks post surgery to ease in healing and preventing complications..

As of now advise her that she should take a nutritious diet and take proper sleep..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
