Is It Safe To Take Medication For Hypertension And Diabetes During Early Pregnancy?
My wife is 6 weeks pregnant with chronic diabetes ( HbA1c was 6.9) and BP was 130/80( Using Telma H OD) As she doesnot know about pregnancy she used Telma H Od and Gluconorm 500 MG Bid doses till Preganancy was detected. She also used one strip of Zolfresh during this period. How these things like use of medicines and Diabetes , Hydpertension will affected fetus during this 6 weeks period. Her age is 40 years

It is not good to use these drugs in pregnancy and you should stop them immediately. Consult your physician. During pregnancy, insulin should be used for diabetes and for BP, Methyldopa like drugs are used.
