Hi,

SGPT also called as ALT are aminotransferases, an enzyme mainly present in the liver and helps in several metabolism. High level of SGPT in the blood indicates damage to the liver cells called as hepatocytes. It should be treated earlier, since liver the major organ of metabolism in the body.

Silymarin is a plant extract with antioxidant, anti-inflammatory properties which protects the liver from the oxidative stress, stabilizes the hepatocyte membrane. It also promotes regeneration of liver cells. Vitamin E is also an antioxidant prescribed in several conditions causing oxidative stress. It is prescribed in liver disease to overcome the hepatocyte injury either due to alcoholic injury or in non alcoholic fatty liver disease or in steotohepatitis which are lethal unless treated on time.

Ursodeoxycholic acid is a bile acid used to prevent synthesis and absorption of cholesterol and helps in fatty liver disease. Avoid spicy and fat items in the diet. Get a balanced diet with needed amount of proteins, carbohydrates and fat with micronutrients for good recovery. Since the value is little higher than normal, it is easier to find the improvements early.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
